I Believe That...
There is a higher power.
God as I see him, is the creator of all things.
He has built into us his laws, in the form of the human conscience.
These laws are above the laws written by man.
Those that do not follow God's laws are defective.
He has also created us with basic rights.
Among these are the rights to life, freedom and to follow our own path in life.
I do not call myself a Christian, though I follow the teachings of Christ.
The term "Christian" has been, far too often, associated with the infliction of unnecessary pain and suffering over the centuries.
I feel the Ten Commandments are an excellent guide for good behavior without infringing on individual freedom.
In return for the benefits of society we must obey reasonable restrictions.
These restrictions, however, must not restrict our basic rights or conflict with the laws of God or Nature.
As long as we do no harm to others we should be free to make any choice we wish, even if it is harmful to ourselves.
Those that can not or will not live with these minimal restrictions must not be allowed to benefit from the society.
Those that intentionally do physical harm to others must be controlled in some way, such as incarceration.
The United States Constitution and Bill of Rights are the absolute law of the land.
Any laws, rules, or regulations that conflict with the Constitution or Bill of Rights are illegal, immoral and/or unethical.
This is the REPUBLIC of the United States of America, not the FEDERAL United States.
Federalism limits individual freedom.
When this country was founded, there was considerable debate over how much power the Government should have.
It was decided that the government should have only enough power to function properly.
I agree with that.
Government has been overstepping its intended limits more each year.
Now there is no aspect of life that is not regulated in some way.
Other than lengthy jail terms for violent criminals caught in possession of guns, we should repeal ALL national and state gun laws.
Criminals do not obey laws, that is what defines them as criminals.
The government did not give us the right to protect our families and ourselves, God and Nature did.
A government that denies that right violates the laws of God and Nature.
Gun laws only serve to make future victims of law-abiding citizens.
The death penalty is the only effective and fair way to deal with murders, but it only works if we use it.
The Commandment is "Thou shall not murder", not "Thou shall not kill."
Citizens should be allowed to have the option of carrying firearms for protection.
Even the most biased studies show that concealed carry laws do no harm.
Unbiased studies show measurable reduction in crime.
Animals are not people, our equals or in any way endowed with basic human rights.
They eat that which we humans cannot and in turn are eaten or otherwise used by us for fur, leather, companionship or beasts of burden.
We are in most cases, the top of the food chain.
I, for one, did not evolve to the top of the food chain just to eat vegetables and wear plant products.
Wasting animals is wrong.
I might even categorize it as a sin, but that is a matter between the one abusing or wasting the animal and God.
It should not be a crime.
I do not agree with those that say that we have no right at all to wear fur or leather.
I feel nobody should wear fur or leather unless they have taken it off at least one animal with their own hands, so they understand where it comes from.
Only by understanding the source can one learn to respect nature.
The same goes for meat and fish.
If you have not killed you have no right to eat meat.
It is the way of nature.
Feminism is a giant step backwards.
Laws protecting women are written and enforced, for the most part, by men.
I can take care of myself.
I do not need a women's group telling me what to think or how to feel.
I enjoy being a woman, and I like men to be men.
Relationships between men and women are confusing enough without laws getting in the way.
Manbashing is Sexist!
We are who we are and they are who they are.
We should eliminate all government subsidies, direct or indirect, to individuals or corporations.
Price supports are among the worst of these subsidies.
It makes no sense to spend tax money to pay someone to reduce production so that we can pay more for the product.
If there are too many producers for the demand, than the price drops till some go out of business and the price stabilizes at a fair level.
If prices are thusly related to demand, than it should be much easier to get into a business and employ those that could not compete without taxpayer supported subsidies.
We should repeal the minimum wage and re-establish the right of individuals to freely enter commercial and employment agreements without interference from Washington.
Frankly, some people aren't worth minimum wage.
It makes no sense to saddle employers with employees that contribute less than it costs to employ them.
Small businesses are a part of what made America great.
They need to be encouraged, not to have taxes and regulations choke the life out of them
There should be NO quotas or preferential treatment of any kind in any area.
Affirmative action is, itself, racist.
An employer that limits it's own options by not hiring from a particular group cut's itself off from potential profits and is less commercially viable than a company that hires based on performance and capability.
The larger the pool of prospective employees, the more talent they have to pick from and, everything else being equal, the more profitable they will be.
I, as a Taxpaying Citizen, expect my employees, politicians and public employees, to hire the best and most qualified people for government jobs.
I want to get the necessary functions of government accomplished as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
The unnecessary functions should be discontinued.
Women, or any other group, have no business in any occupation that requires the lowering of requirements so they can get in.
If the job requirements are realistic and based on what the job actually entails, than it is not logical to lower them so unqualified people can get into that field.
If you can pass the test you should get the job, if not, do something that you are capable of doing.
Unrealistic requirements are a problem that needs to be addressed, but only in the public sector.
But no matter what, I still believe women have no place in ground combat.
Male soldiers instinctively "protect" the females, leading to unnecessary casualties.
Homosexuality is not a social disease, but it appears to be the symptom of one.
When primates are overcrowded in a zoo or in a shrinking habitat, homosexuality becomes common.
Not reproducing controls the population while homosexual pairing fills the need for physical contact.
Humans have overpopulated this planet and we are feeling the pressures of that overcrowding.
If you do not like homosexuals, work to improve the conditions we live in.
Laws and social attitudes intended to oppress any group, not just homosexuals, exacerbate the problems and makes the situation worse.
I, for one, can not condemn any expression of love in this society where expressions of hate are all too common.
The best way to achieve peace is to work for justice.

I will be adding more to this page in the future.
...This is what I believe. You, of course, have a right to disagree.
